Privacy and Personal Data Protection StatementIn accordance with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD - Law No. 13,709/2018) and international guidelines on research integrity (COPE), the Revista Intercom adopts the following safeguards for the processing of data from authors, reviewers, and readers:
- Purpose of Processing: The collected data (names, emails, ORCID, institutional affiliation, and biography) are strictly intended for the execution of editorial services, peer review, citation metrics, anti-plagiarism checks, and communication regarding the status of the submission.
- Necessary Scientific Sharing: Data are not sold or transferred to third parties. However, upon article approval, authors' metadata will be shared with international indexers and databases (such as SciELO, Scopus, and Web of Science) to ensure the visibility and proper attribution of scientific authorship.
- Security and Storage: The journal implements appropriate technical and administrative measures to protect data against unauthorized access. In the event of manuscript rejection or archiving, unpublished data remain confidential within the system.
- Data Subject Rights: Users are guaranteed the right to access, rectify, or request the erasure of their registration data at any time, while safeguarding the editorial history and the public record of already published articles, which fulfill legal and scientific obligations.
