Homens e mulheres cientistas: questões de gênero nas duas principais emissoras televisivas do Brasil

Neste artigo, analisamos a representação de cientistas ao longo da programação diária das duas principais emissoras televisivas brasileiras: TV Globo e TV Record. Selecionamos duas semanas construídas representativas de seis meses de 2013, visando identificar peças que apresentassem a imagem de cientistas. Assistimos a 672 horas, das quais 0,8% apresentaram algum cientista. Identificamos uma presença maior de cientistas homens do que mulheres. A TV Globo, líder de audiência, veiculou a imagem desses profissionais mais vezes. Os homens cientistas estiveram mais presentes em programas de entretenimento e as mulheres, em publicidades. Observamos a reiteração do estereótipo de cientista na televisão brasileira, com uma predominância da figura masculina, vestindo jaleco branco e trabalhando em laboratório.
