Abstract

Rui Barbosa, arauto do liberalismo, foi também um jornalista que, em defesa da liberdade de imprensa e da verdade, contribuiu para o ideal de imprensa que ainda hoje ecoa. A análise de seus escritos aponta as condições reais de sua produção ao longo de 50 anos; desvenda aspectos estruturais da imprensa no limiar do século XX ainda presentes às vésperas do terceiro milênio.
