Abstract

Este texto foi originalmente escrito para a abertura do I Ciclo de Estudos Especializados: Fundamentos, Trajetória e Potencial, realizado em La Paz, Bolívia, em março de 2004. Ao abordar a história da pesquisa crítica em Comunicação desde a década de 70 pretende também provocar uma reflexão sobre o papel do comunicólogo contemporâneo. Questiona, por exemplo, o abandono do problema da desigualdade, substituído pela sacralização da tecnologia moderna.
