Nesta entrevista, o célebre intelectual ocidental Andreas Huyssen, de origem alemã, aborda temas que lhe são caros, como o da memória e o dos efeitos da mídia na cultura moderna. Professor de Literatura Comparada, Huyssen estabelece conexões entre seu trabalho de problematização do pós-moderno e o fenômeno midiático contemporâneo, marcado pelas conseqüências do atentado de 11 de setembro de 2001. O panorama comunicacional brasileiro também é considerado pelo pensador, cujos livros Memórias do modernismo e Seduzidos pela memória: arquitetura, monumentos, mídia foram publicados no País.
