Abstract

Este artigo analisa o Programa Globo Rural. Pretendeu-se desvendar o significado do rural na Globo, bem como evidenciar os procedimentos para atingi-los. Utilizou-se como instrumental metodológico análise de conteúdo. Pode-se inferir que o programa é mais que informativo, não podendo ser caracterizado como um programa de jornalismo científico. Ele expressa a reconstrução simbólica de uma realidade, divulgando e legitimando a idéia de que a emancipação do produtor rural e o progresso social dependem única e exclusivamente do desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico, o que é uma distorção.
