Abstract

Resumo
Este estudo avalia a qualidade da recepção do noticiário internacional por uma amostra de 170 porto-alegrenses. O survey está baseado nas for- mulações apresentadas na Taxonomia de Bloom et al. As evidências coletadas revelam que esta temática não só não é popular como repre- senta um desafio cognitivo e afetivo para a maior parte das pessoas. Este fenômeno da impopularidade do noticiário internacional foi detecta- do no exterior também e representa no Brasil uma das causas flagran- tes da posição marginal desta editoria na maior parte dos meios de comunicação.

Resumen
Este estudio evalúa la calidad de la recepción internacional de las noti- cias en una muestra de 170 de brasileíños de Porto Alegre. Este survey esta basado en las formulaciones de la Taxonomía de Bloom et al. Los da- tos demuestran que este tema es no solamente impopular pero también representa un desafío cognoscitivo y emocional para la mayoría de los respondedores. Tal fenómeno de la impopularidad fue encontrado tam- bién en muchas otras partes del mundo. Pero en el Brasil ayuda a explicar porqué esta sección es tan marginal en los medios en general. Abstract
This study aims to reveal the quality of international news reception by a 170 sample of Brazilians from Porto Alegre. This survey took in ac- count Bloom et al. Taxonomy directives. The data show that this theme is not only unpopular but also represents a cognitive and emotional challenge for most of the respondents. Such phenomenon of unpopu- larity was found as well in many other parts of the world. But in Brazil it helps to explain why this section is so marginal in newsrooms as a whole.
