Abstract

O artigo discute o simulacro como categoria de análise da sensibilidade estética surgida com o desenvolvimento das tecnologias de reprodução do som e imagem. W. Benjamin é referido como precursor desta linha de estudo, contido em embrião no conceito de reprodução elaborado pelo autor. O simulacro é apresentado como fonte de uma nova forma de experiência, na qual se estabelece o primado da sensibilidade sobre o conceito no plano do gosto. Em conclusão, procura-se mostrar que o significado do fenômeno, mediado pelas novas tecnologias, remete em última instância à dialética entre massa e civilização.
